Checking on your check

Or you can call 1-800-829-1954, which is the IRS Refund Hotline. If your use the automated system you will need to provide your Security number. You will also need to be ready to provide your filing status and the amount of your refund as shown on your return.
If you file electronically, allow at least 72 hours before you start checking on your refund. And if you mailed it, you need to wait at least three weeks before checking up on it.
